 1)   Called to Order – President Harold Kollman

2)   Dave Berelsman spoke at the February meeting reported they received quite a few donated clothes

3)   March 15 Relay for Life Cancer Walk was reported - Please call Betsy Spencer at the Celebration Foundation for details if you arc a Cancer Survivor 407-566-1234

6)    Art Festival Patron's Program Invitations here – Ann Whelan discussed details of program
 

7)   Restaurant of the Month has been changed to Cantina Loredo scheduled for March 26 @ 6:30pm (2 spots remaining)
 

8)    Next meeting sign up (Laughter is the Best Medicine) Earlyn Davidson reported need judges and sign up to bring a joke.
 

9)     Town Hall report: Bill Pelaia Downtown: Signed Lease on Book Store, Thai Restaurant to open 7/01/09, Shannon's Irish Eatery replaces Sherlock's (Barber shop will stay). Celebration Blvd: Fill dirt only no building near Mona Lisa, Age restricted Development to be completed in 14 months (Developer lives in Celebration part time) Corpus Christi Church: Pending opening Christmas this year (Bill estimates early 2010) Civic Corridor: Draft map explained access to Library, etc.

The Celebrators – Meeting Minutes of Wednesday, April 1, 2009

1.  Meeting called to order at 9:30 A.M. by Vice President Pat McGoldrick with      the salute to the flag.         

2.  Ruthann Petrigliano, Secretary presented the minutes of March meeting which were approved as written.

3.  Karl Jaehrling, Treasurer, presented the financial report with a total amount in the account presently at $3,403.00.

4.  Herb Winfield, Membership Director, reported that there are 253 members on the roll, of which 152 have paid their 2009 dues. Later in April, non-payment letters will be sent out. 

5.  Carol Jones, Culinary Director, reaffirmed that the April Dinner will be at the Red Lobster on Rt. 192 in Kissimmee. The May meeting to be at 10:00A.M. with a Cinco Demayo potluck theme.

6.  Happy hour – Thursday April 2nd at The Celebration Hotel.

7.  April birthdays were recognized.

8.  Get well list – Bob Areleo, Alice and John Hermann

9.  New grandparents – Fred and Leslie Bartok.

10. Earlyn Davidson – Talked about May 14th at the Comedy Club.  $13.30.  Leaving from water tower.  Carpooling.  Comedy Club is in downtown Orlando.

11. Ann Whelan – talked about the pie festival.  Volunteers needed.  The food network is going to be on board.  She also talked about the patron program for the art festival.

12. Dave Berelsman & Betsy Spencer from the Celebration Foundation gave a history overview of the Foundation.  Town hall and Foundation are working together on programs and grants.  April 20th – Volunteers to be honored. April 21st-26th – volunteers needed for the SUN-N-FUN Flyin in Lakeland

13. Pat McGoldrick – Mentioned Book Club of the month meets on the last Friday of every month at the Artisan Club in Artisan Park. See Pat Wells for further information.

14. Dick Wells – talked about the Celebration Veterans organization.  Currently has 40 members and he discussed  what they are doing.  They meet on the second Thursday of each month at the 851 Building.

15. Dean Jones – Discussed a trip to the dog track in Sanford on April 15th.  Admission is $19.  The cost includes  the admission cost and food. They will meet at 12:20.

16. 50/50 raffle winner - $60 Herb Winfield

17. Rest of meeting was dedicated to jokes and stories by members.

THE CELEBRATORS  MEETING

SEPTEMBER 2009

 

9:00 a.m.   Social time coffee and refreshments - Thank you John and Ann Fitzpatrick.  The Calories were delicious

9:30  Meeting called to order by Harold Kollman followed by the salute to the flag.

1.      Secretary minutes were read and accepted as written.

2.      Treasury Report - $3,518.18

3.      Membership Report — 196 paid members.

4.      Greeters were John and Greta Ricci. 

5.      Attendance was approximately 80 +  - Magnificent turn out!

Old Business - None

6.      New Business -

  Very positive comments on the newsletter being sent by e-mail.  Great job to Dick Wells.

   Celebrators Baton Twirling for Seniors - 851 Building  6pm to 7pm Tuesday. All welcome!

   Restaurant of the Month - Frescos on Turkey Lake Road at 6:30 pm.

  Shearer Richardson talked about the "Singing Christmas Trees on December 4th at 7:30 pm.    The cost is $17.00.  Further information next month.

 * Holiday Party on December 9th at the Golf Club.  Cost $25.00 per person including food and music.  There will be a cash bar.  Maximum attendees will be 125 guests.  Send checks to:  Ruth Ann Petrigliano made out to "The Celebrators".

 October 7th meeting will be at 10:00 am and we will have a brunch.

 Contact Earlyn Davidson regarding the Royal Caribbean Cruise on January 18, 2010.  The cost for the 4 night cruise is approximately $300.00 pp.

 October 23rd - Friday evening trail walk for Halloween.

 November 13th - Comedy Club - across the street at the Ramada Resort.  The cost is $8.00 for  the show.  If you want to meet at the Golden Coral for dinner let me know.

 Mahjong classes - Earlyn Davidson to teach.  A sign-up sheet was posted.

 Veterans Covenant program pledged to assist families of service people leaving on January 2, 1010.  All ideas are welcome.

 Volunteers needed for coffee in November.  Signup sheet in back.  No coffee servers needed    for October brunch meeting.

 Deadline approaching for submitting names for the 2010 Celebration Directory.

 Happy hour will be tomorrow night, Thursday, at the Artisan Park Club House.

 Carol Negro won the 50/50 - $66.00.

 Nominating committee for 2010 officers needed.  Please contact Harold Kollman.
